The St. Louise School Music Program, led by Mr. Matt Turner, MAT, inspires a love for music in every student by providing a comprehensive education that includes singing, movement, instrument playing, and performance. The program nurtures creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation, while helping students build confidence and teamwork skills through individual and group experiences.
Program Overview:
- Weekly music classes for all students from Pre-K through 8th grade, with longer sessions as students advance.
- Performance opportunities include a Christmas concert, Spring Arts Evening, and assisting in school Masses.
- Choir is open to students in grades 4–8, with regular rehearsals and performances at school events.
- Band is available after school for students of all ages.
- Middle school students may participate in music electives such as drums and guitar.
Curriculum Overview:
- Pre-K: Two 20-minute classes per week focusing on musical concepts through singing, movement, and storytelling.
- Grades K–5: One 40-minute class per week covering vocal skills, rhythm, music literacy, composition, and instruments.
- Grades 6–8: One 45-minute class per week with a focus on advanced skills, liturgical music, and real-world connections.

- Develop skills in vocal performance, music reading, listening, composition, and playing instruments.
