Learning Specialists

St. Louise believes that all children can and will learn. A child's support team comprises of the principal, learning specialist(s), homeroom teacher, and their parent(s). The team collaborates and utilizes outside professionals to identify and meet the student's individual learning and/or social development needs.

St. Louise School employs two learning specialists – Melissa Cantu and Karen Salmon. As the full-time learning specialist, Ms. Cantu creates Student Support Plans for K-8 students in partnership with parents, teachers, and the principal. She also supports students (primarily 6th-8th graders) with learning strategies, organization, executive functioning, study skills, and provides individual instruction as appropriate. Mrs. Salmon is a part-time learning specialist who supports students (primarily PK-5th graders) with learning strategies, study skills, and provides individual instruction as appropriate. Both learning specialists serve as resources for the teachers, and are experts in student support.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to email Ms. Cantu and/or Mrs. Salmon. They look forward to hearing from you.
