Robotics
At St. Louise, we’re proud to offer an engaging and hands-on robotics program for middle school students, led by expert instructors from Blaze Robotics Academy. This exciting program introduces students to the world of robotics, engineering, and programming through the use of cutting-edge VEX IQ Robotics kits. Designed to inspire curiosity and problem-solving, the program encourages students to work as a team to design, build, and program robots to complete various tasks and challenges. Students utilize the block-based coding skills they acquired through Code.org and MIT Scratch in the lower grades. Those who are curious can further explore programming their robots using Python.
About the Program: The St. Louise Middle School Robotics Program immerses students in the fundamentals of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, with a unique emphasis on teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. Using VEX IQ Robotics kits students engage in every aspect of the engineering process—from brainstorming and building to testing and refining. These activities not only support a STEM focus but also prepare students for future success in a technology-driven world.
Led by Blaze Robotics Academy: Our program is taught by skilled instructors from Blaze Robotics Academy, known for their expertise in competitive robotics education. Blaze Robotics Academy brings a wealth of experience and a passion for teaching that enhances our students' learning experience, helping them develop both technical skills and a deep understanding of robotics concepts.
Program Highlights:
- Hands-On Learning: Students work with VEX IQ Robotics kits to bring their robotic designs to life. These kits offer countless opportunities for innovation and creativity as students navigate complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborative Environment: Robotics is a team activity, and students learn to collaborate effectively to achieve common goals. Each student brings their unique strengths to the team, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Skill Building for the Future: Through the program, students gain valuable skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, coding, and engineering, which will serve them well in high school and beyond.
