Preschool at St. Louise

Preschool at St. Louise provides a warm, nurturing first school experience where young children can grow in confidence, independence, curiosity, and faith. Through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, and meaningful relationships with teachers and classmates, students begin developing the foundational skills that will support them throughout their educational journey.

As part of St. Louise Parish School, our Preschool program follows the school calendar and regular school-day schedule. Students are members of our larger school community from the very beginning, experiencing the routines, relationships, traditions, and sense of belonging that make St. Louise special.

Preschool at a Glance

  • Age Requirement: Children must be at least 3 years old by August 31 of the year they begin the program.
  • Potty Training: Students must be fully potty trained before the school year begins.
  • Half-Day: 8:20 AM–12:00 PM
  • Full-Day: 8:20 AM–3:10 PM
  • Small Class Environment: Individualized attention helps each child feel known, supported, and confident at school.

Learning Through Play & Exploration

Our Preschool curriculum is developmentally appropriate and designed to engage young learners through play, discovery, movement, creativity, and hands-on experiences. Throughout the day, children have opportunities to grow in several important areas:

  • Social & Emotional Development: Building friendships, learning classroom routines, sharing, taking turns, communicating needs, and developing independence.
  • Language & Early Literacy: Stories, songs, conversations, rhymes, and early exposure to letters and sounds help build strong communication and literacy foundations.
  • Early Math & Thinking Skills: Counting, sorting, patterns, problem-solving, and exploration encourage early mathematical thinking and curiosity.
  • Creative Expression: Art, music, imaginative play, and movement give children opportunities to create, explore, and express themselves.
  • Physical Development: Fine-motor activities, gross-motor play, movement, and outdoor experiences help children develop coordination and confidence.

Faith-Filled Beginnings

Faith is naturally woven into each day through prayer, Bible stories, kindness, gratitude, service, and age-appropriate opportunities to learn about God’s love. Children begin to understand what it means to care for others and to be part of a faith-filled school community.

After-School Care

For families who need care beyond the regular school day, St. Louise Kids’ Club provides after-school care for Preschool students until 5:45 PM. Kids’ Club is a separate care option available after the school day.
