Adopt-a-Garden

Help beautify a specific area on the parish and school grounds by weeding, planting, and pruning. You keep your area looking nice throughout the year through regular yardwork, based on your own schedule – evenings or weekends.
Art Assistant

Work on projects at home, preparing materials for art classes throughout the year, and matting and labeling student artwork for displaying in the school hallways by the art teacher throughout the year.
Ash Wednesday Rice & Beans Lunch Organizer and/or Kitchen Assistant

One or two parents are needed to help place orders for rice & beans prior to Ash Wednesday and to work with a team of volunteers and the 7th grade teachers and students in the feeding the entire school in our annual fasting and almsgiving lunch. For those who don’t want to lead, we could use your help the morning and afternoon of Ash Wednesday – February 26 - cooking and serving and then cleaning up afterwards.
Auction Centerpieces & Head Table

Get your creative side flowing with designing auction table centerpieces. Most of the work is done during the fall and also the day of the November auction.
Auction Inventory Chair and/or Auction Data Management Team Member

Data entry, label and help organize items. Help sort, label and prepare items for transport. All of the work is done prior to the auction, and some work may be done at home and/or done on your own time schedule. This job starts mid-September.
Auction Item Display Team Member

Prepare item display sheets and visual displays in the fall prior to the auction. Help with the setup and display of all items at the hotel the morning of the November auction.
Auction Marketing & Promotions Team Member

Assist the marketing chair with auction marketing and promotions at a few, select morning and afternoon carpool dates.
Auction Night Team Member and/or Auction Accounting Team Member

Provide a number of different services the Saturday night of the Auction, such as closing silent auction tables and helping with the live auction. ….and/or…. Help with cashiering, data entry, and filing during the Saturday late afternoon and evening of the November Auction, and the Sunday afternoon following the auction.

Help procure great items for this year’s auction! Lead lists, letters, and instruction are provided. Our committee work starts immediately. This is a great job to work around all the other things you have to do! If you are a person who is always out having fun, this is for you! We need fresh, fun ideas. Having connections is also a plus.
Auction Setup/Cleanup Team Member

Setup includes loading a rental truck with grade projects and other large items the Friday before the November auction, and then helping to transport the items to the hotel on auction day Saturday morning. Cleanup includes loading the truck after the auction late Saturday night, and transporting the items back to the school the following Sunday morning. It is possible to attend the auction and still do this job.
Auction Special Projects Team Member

Assist the Auction Director with a variety of auction related tasks and errands. Much of the work may be done on your own time schedule. Some work will be post-Auction, from December on, as you assist with post-auction events.
Charger Card Morning Processing

Assist in selling and inventorying of St. Louise Charger Gear at the August 22nd Uniform Sale and/or the St. Nicholas Breakfast on December 7th.
Chess Club

Help assist various grades and ability levels. Don’t need chess knowledge. On Mondays in late September through December; and again in February through April.
Computer Class Assistant

Assist the computer teacher during computer lab time. No technology background is necessary. Flexible hours are scheduled according to your preference.
CYO Athletic Board Member

From time to time, there are vacancies on the parish’s CYO Athletic Board. The board meets monthly during the school year, helping to oversee the smooth operations of all the sports opportunities for St. Louise youth.

Assist on a committee to keep the school up-to-date on earthquake preparedness. Help to organize emergency supplies. Much of this job can be done on your own time.
Family Envelope Stuffer

Stuff the school’s red-colored Family Envelopes at school with a few fellow parents approximately two Thursdays per month for one hour every other week, starting at 8:30am.
Father-Daughter Dance Setup/Cleanup

Father-Daughter Dance set up/clean up – Help set up for the February 22nd dance, which includes decorating the Parish Hall on the day of or day prior to the event (includes hanging lights, displays, tables, etc.). Clean-up includes folding up tables, sweeping floors, taking down decorations, etc.
Fix-Up/Spruce Up

Help beautify the parish and school grounds by weeding, planting, and pruning on up to four Saturday mornings throughout the school year – two Saturdays are held in the fall and two Saturdays are held in the spring.
Hospitality

Help set-up and serve refreshments at a few events throughout the year, including some faculty luncheons, curriculum nights, and open house. May include baking. Most events are during the evening.
Laminating Machine Helper

Help the faculty laminate posters, name tags, etc. on the school laminator. No experience necessary. Choose your own days approximately twice a month to come in and laminate.
Library Assistant

Assist students and the school librarian with circulation of books and collection management. Flexible hours are scheduled according to your preference.
Marketing Committee

Work with a team of parents and our development directors in various admissions events and promotional ideas to market the school to prospective new school families. Much of the work may be done on your own time. Previous work in marketing, graphic design, and/or public relations is helpful, but all that is required is a love for St. Louise School.
Nurse Volunteer

Provide assistance to students in the nurse’s room during a 60 minute lunch recess time from 12:00-1:00 pm one day a week or one day every-other week. Must have nursing and/or first aid training.

Room Parent
A fun opportunity to be connected with teachers, your child, and their classmates. Each classroom has 2 parents that partner together throughout the school year. It is very reasonable to be a Room Parent while working or staying home with children; the planning portion can easily be done on your own time day or evening and you don’t always have to be present in the classroom as usually many classroom parents like to come for the events to have fun and earn hours, too! Primarily, room parents will support organizing the following: Organizing Classroom Events/Parties; Arranging Teacher Gifts; Securing Volunteers within Class for Key Events. Please indicate the grade you are interested in helping.

Saint Nicholas Breakfast Set-Up

Help create costumes for the school play. Perfect job for the seamstress-mom who would like to work on her own time throughout the fall and winter in preparation for the April production.
Science Helper
Work with one or more parents at your child’s grade level to assist the teachers as needed with science lessons. Involves helping to gather materials and set-up hands-on lessons at various times throughout the year per the teachers’ instructions. No science background is necessary. Please indicate the grade you are interested in helping.

Social Activities Committee

Join the Social Activities Committee. Help create and implement various family fun activities throughout the school year. The Social Activities Committee is responsible for the annual Father/Daughter Dance and the Mother/Son Event. In addition, they organize a family event or two (such as a Mariner night, Sounders game, ice skating party, etc.). Help generate ideas for these events or assist with the preparation on one.
Speech Team

Assist with coaching speech teams, judging tournaments, and/or various other parent positions required to facilitate the school’s Speech Team from September through February. No experience is necessary, with training provided. Positions are available that can be completed afterschool and/or on Sunday evenings and/or from-home.
Summer Supplies Distribution

Assist one or two days in mid/late-August by distributing ordered art supplies and textbooks to each of the classrooms. Days and times for August to be arranged with the Vice-Principal. Your junior high and high school children are welcome to help with this project also.
Technology Committee

Assist the computer teachers and classroom teachers by being available on as needed basis to troubleshoot and maintain our PCs and network. Assistance may be given days or evenings as your schedule permits, and usually includes one evening at least quarterly from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Traffic Director

During afternoon carpool (2:50 – 3:20 p.m. or 1:50 – 2:20 p.m. on Mondays), direct traffic and parking with another parent for the entire year one day per week. No experience is necessary.
Used Uniform Sales

Assist in inventorying and selling of St. Louise uniforms at the August 22nd Summer Sale (from 3:00-6:00 pm), and at least at two other sales throughout the school year (typically from 1:00-4:00 pm on a school day).
Walkathon Volunteer

This job includes set up and take down, cheering on students, tend to water, snacks, first aid and game stations on May 1st. Volunteers are also needed for accounting, tail gate party and walkathon celebration.
