Computer Education Curriculum 2023 - 2024
Philosophy
Computer education is an integral part of the total learning process of every student. One of the goals of St. Louise Parish School is to empower students to become life-long learners and to provide opportunities for students to become technologically competent. Through a comprehensive computer curriculum and frequent integration of academics and technology, students will be given the power to bring the world of knowledge within a few keystrokes.

Grade K-6 students have computer class once each week in the computer lab equipped with 27 workstations with internet access.  The curriculum is designed to support and enhance basic classroom learning as well as to develop skills in keyboarding, document creation, coding, and researching. By graduation, students will have gained proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, and will be able to effectively and ethically utilize the internet and digital devices for academic projects.

Essential Learnings
  • Students will develop keyboarding and technical skills that enable the efficient use of technology in their education and daily lives.
  • Students will be able to create, produce, and present ideas, documents, and stories through a variety of media and tools.
  • Students will be able to locate information sources, retrieve appropriate information, and communicate electronically.
