Support Our Faith-Raising Capital Campaign

Catch the Spirit

We want to welcome everyone back from their summer – we hope you had some great vacations and experiences.

Our campaign through the summer months has been a lot like climbing a mountain: slow but steady progress, then, as people returned from their summer vacations, it has accelerated. We received more than twice as many brand new commitments at the end of August as we received throughout all of June, July, and the beginning of August.

As of the end of August, our commitments to the Faith-Raising Capital Campaign total slightly more than $7.4 million and we have fulfilled those commitments in the amount of just over $1.8 million.

The pace continues to pick up. In late September or early October, Liz Norton and her team will send out the latest campaign newsletter. (If you’re not receiving the newsletters in the mail, please contact the Parish Office – they’re an important way to keep posted on the campaign.)

Later in October we will receive the more detailed cost estimates from our architect and builder – then we’ll know exactly how much money we need to build the 35,000 sq ft, 12-room Phase 1 we planned – or the entire 50,000 sq ft, 18-room building we eventually need. We’ll tell you what those numbers are and what they mean as soon as we get them. (In the meantime, rest assured the campaign will allow us to build Phase 1 as we planned – the question is can we also add Phase 2 without an additional campaign?)

In December we will file building permits with the City of Bellevue to let them know exactly what we plan to build. Then, in June 2009, just after school is out for the summer, we will break ground on our new Parish School and Faith Formation Center. You should expect school and faith formation classes to move into the new building starting in September 2010. How many school and faith formation classes use the new building in 2010 will depend, of course, on whether we build just Phase 1 or both Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Thank you again for your continued support of the Faith-Raising Capital Campaign. If you haven’t yet had a chance to make your commitment, please pray about what you are being called to do and respond with joy as soon as you’re ready.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN PAYMENTS MAY NOW BE MADE BY CREDIT CARD

You may now make St. Louise Capital Campaign (Building Fund) payments through your VISA or MasterCard. Look for the PINK credit card authorization forms in the main vestibule or the Parish Office.

Please note that because St. Louise will be charged a fee of approximately 2.55% on these transactions, we are asking that all pledge payments made by credit card be in the amount of at least $50 each. Payments may be made monthly, quarterly, annually or as a one-time payment.

Credit card payments will be processed by the parish once a month, on the third Friday of each month. If you have any questions please contact Barbara Abbott at the Parish Office at 425-747-4450 x11 or barbaraa@stlouiseschool.org.

In the near future it will also be possible to make your pledge payments via automatic transfer from a bank account. Please watch for the announcement in the bulletin.
