Field Trip Fun!
Both 1st and 2nd grade classes had the privilege of going to see a live stage production of the beloved children's book character Skippyjon Jones come to life at the Bellevue Meydenbauer Center! We saw the Village Theatre's production of Skippyjon Jones: Snow What. It was a blast! Thank you to all the parent drivers that were able to make this field trip happen!
Today all of the students and faculty got a sneak preview of our school musical: Seussical the Musical! The actors did a fantastic job and the first graders had a wonderful time watching! The show opens after spring break - order your tickets today!
Our first graders shared their time, talents and treasures today with St Vincent de Paul. All fall and winter first graders and their families have been collecting coats for those in need. They also had the brilliant idea to make cards to go along with the coats. Today 1A and 1B classes met Donna Whitford who works for St Vincent's and learned about how St Vincent de Paul helps those in need. There we so many coats we were able to fill up a whole car load! Way to go 1st grade families, thank you for your service giving back to your community!
1st Grade Scientists Hard at Work: Our first grade scientists are learning about solids and their properties. For more photos of the 1B engineers designing and building their towers check out our photo album page!
Our "H Brothers" digraph unit is complete! The last several week we have been learning about the /ch/ sound with Charlie, the /th/ sound with Theo, the /wh/ sound with Whit, and the /sh/ sound with Sherman. The students did a great job with their projects and had a lot of fun learning along the way with the "H Brothers!"
Happy Epiphany! 1B shared in a French Epiphany tradition of the Gallette des Rois (King's Cake) and Apolo and Claire found the baby Jesus!
