Mr. O'C Receives State Award

Each year, the Washington State Legislature recognizes and celebrates the many teachers, public servants, and organizations working to cultivate engaged citizens in Washington State. Because civic educators are at work laying the foundation for new generations of contributing citizens, special focus is given to education in Washington State and its profound importance in creating leaders.

We are proud to announce that this year, St. Louise School 7th grade teacher, Todd O’Connor, has been named a 2016 Top Civic Educator! The 2016 award winners were honored on “Civic Education Day” at the Capitol in Olympia earlier this year. You may see stories of this year’s Washington State Civic Educators online:

In this photo from last year, Mr. O’Connor shares his passion for wild life preservation, particularly when it comes to elephants. The class was so inspired, they raised and donated $105 to the African Parks Foundation with a specific request that the money go toward elephant anti-poaching patrols in Zakouma or in Garamba National Park in the DRC.
